The International Journal of Studies in Public Leadership (IJSPL) is a double-blind peer reviewed online journal published by the Rashtram School of Public Leadership, Sonipat, Haryana, India. The journal strives for the enrichment of research in leadership studies and allied disciplines by providing a forum for research and exchange of ideas in the field of leadership studies and its pedagogy. The IJSPL is a primary source for disseminating independently refereed research articles related to leadership studies in all its varied aspects – historical, regional and situational; as well as in all spheres of public leadership – including politics, business, activism, civil society, government, academia and the mass communication media.
Aims and Scope of the Journal
Leadership studies cuts across multiple disciplines and encompasses a wide spectrum of practices. Accordingly, International Journal of Studies in Public Leadership (IJSPL) accommodates articles expounding theoretical perspectives, methodological findings, and even practices for effective and inspired leadership. IJSPL encourages submissions from multiple fields within humanities and social sciences as well as interdisciplinary areas that are concerned with governance, civilisational studies, wellness, culture and arts, among others.
The goal of research is to update various fields with new knowledge and explore novel spaces for innovation. In keeping with this goal, IJSPL seeks to directly disseminate new knowledge within the academic community as well as the wider public sphere, with the express intention of solving the pressing problems of our day-to-day existence through inspired leadership in both private and public domains. The multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches adopted by the journal expands the scope of applying varied knowledge paradigms and mental models or frameworks of thought for both the researcher as well as the reader. Such a formulation of the journal’s scope provides a vast and fertile ground to incorporate and incubate fresh ideas, ushering in creativity and effectivity in knowledge production. IJSPL, by way of publishing research articles and reviews, ultimately aims to expand the horizon of contemporary leadership studies and foster meta-skills in education and research.
IJSPL adopts interdisciplinary as well as transdisciplinary approaches to research and publication, and it is a valuable source of information for researchers and practitioners in schools of management, policy, public affairs and public administration, as well as other disciplines which are associated with leadership studies.
The journal welcomes feedback from readers and seeks to provide a platform for a lively exchange of ideas.
The journal will be published twice a year starting from November 2020, when Volume I, Issue I will be released.
Positioning of the Journal
Currently there is a palpable surge of demand in the field of leadership studies in India and across the world, especially because we are going through a period of extraordinary crisis. We, at the Rashtram School of Public Leadership, expect this trend to continue and grow. However, the country does not have a good academic journal with a focus on leadership studies. The idea is to position this journal as a leading space in leadership studies research, both nationally and internationally, within a period of three to five years. Once the journal is launched, it will be included in the various databases of journals and made available for library subscriptions.
